Here’s how to do a Romanian Deadlift (RDL) the right way.
As I go to the gym, I see so many people doing this exercise the wrong way and not getting its full intended benefits.
Here are some tips to master this exercise!
- Bent knee = working out quads
- Straight knee = working out hamstrings
- Keep neutral spine by having a straight line from your ear, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle (the leg that is up in the air) aligned as you bend down.
- Have a foot tripod: keep the big toe, small toe, and heel on the ground at all time (for the leg that is not in the air)
Most people try to lift too heavy weights and compromise the fundamentals.
Make sure you get the fundamental movements correct for stability and strength and then slowly increase the weights.
